Abstract :
This article presented a projectile muzzle velocity measuring instrument based on semiconductor laser retro-reflective screen and single chip microcomputer. The optical part of instrument includes two semiconductor lasers, two photoelectric detector, and two retro-reflective screens. The measuring principle, data acquisition unit, signal processing unit, display unit are introduced. When the projectile passes through the laser screen, variation of light flux is transformed by photoelectric detector into electronic signal and processed by circuit. Then, the single chip microcomputer system analyzes and calculates the signal. Finally, the velocity is shown on the LCD. A series of velocity data of F120mm projectile are given. The velocity measurement instrument has advantages of high sensitivity, small volume, low cost, measurement, agility and reliable operation.
