Abstract :
Permeability of the fabric is an important indicator for the clothing comfort. The raw materials, yarn count tightness, texture, thickness, and density will have some impacts on the permeability of the fabric. The present paper is primarily concerned with the fabric structure parameters of 10 commonly used in pure cotton fabrics. Some tests were made, including the basic properties such as yarns type, yarn count, thickness, tightness, per gram of square meters, water vapor permeability of the fabric and so on. The study shows that the texture, weft-tightness, overall tightness, square meters gram, thickness have significant effects on the permeability of fabric with the same materials. As for the lighter fabric, the breathable performance increases with larger pores. It is very important to choose the appropriate structure parameters in fabrics designing for desired clothing comfort.
