  • Abstract
In order to avoid earthwork imbalance and relevant destroy on airfield surroundings, the influencing factors and adjusting method on how to control airfield earthwork balance was studied. According to analysis on method and result of geological reconnaissance, computing method of excavation and filling amount of earth, and quality control in construction procedure, the reason how airfield earthwork balance error happened was studied, the theory equation of earthwork balance with multiform earth existing at the same time and considering error existing was put forward, and the method to adjust earth imbalance by properly changing airfield surface gradients and increasing or decreasing pavement surface design height was brought forward. It is pointed that the result of earth balance error was controlled in 1.5 percent range and the earthwork balance was basically realized with the application of the theory and method in design and construction of Huhehaote, Kanasi, Yulin, and Yushi airfield. The result indicates that the key factors which most influence the result of earthwork balance include original surface height, earth distributing, compaction factor, computing method of earthwork amount, the theory equation and adjusting method of earthwork balance considering multiform earth existing and influence of all kinds of error could be effective measurement to design airfield terrain.
