Abstract
This paper deals with electromagnetic and constructional design of a new induction machine, which is specific with its construction, as it is designed to be composed only of metal plates. This machine is designed to work in dusty and explosive atmosphere of a coal mill, hence it utilizes double circuit cooling. The coal mill working conditions also require a high moment of inertia, which affect the design of machine´s rotor. High dynamical stress of coal mill working conditions also affect the complete mechanical and constructional solution of the machine. This machine furthermore does not utilize any external cooler, since its outer sides are designed to work as coolers. In case of necessity it is also possible to use a standard external cooler.
