Abstract :
This paper focuses on design and implementation of a receiver supporting high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP). Besides architectural analysis and design approach discussions, a detailed micro architecture is proposed and implemented. Cipher datapath, controller, registers and I2C interface are implemented, and both place-and-route and custom design method is used. The HDCP receiver is suitable for uses as an IP embedded in digital video interface or high definition multimedia interface chips.
