This paper investigates the long-term relationship between stock market development and economic development in China. Although there were evidences that they are interacting, some argued stock market development spurred the economy growth and some didn´t find this link. In this paper, a cointegration and causal test are used to study relationship on them in China. The data set are divided into three subsections. We find that stock market development did not caused economic growth. This reason might be that the market institution is not mature.
