Abstract
In this paper, a new two-parameter family of combined iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations is presented. The new methods require two evaluations of the function and two evaluations of its first derivative. Numerical tests show that the number of iterations of the new methods is less than that of the Newton´s method and some methods with third-order convergence. It is found that it only adds the evaluation of the function at another point, but its convergence order can be increased above the original level.
