  • Abstract
Learning English is an important course for Taiwanese students for whom English is a second language. For improving the spelling accuracy, typing speed and response ability when learning English, this study proposes an adaptive, game-based, learning framework for typing games to improve students´ learning performance. Three key components are considered in the framework: (1) A portfolio of the learner´s electronic evidence is built for tracking the learning process; (2) An adaptive learning mechanism involves playing the game and reporting a series of experiments that compare performing different learning techniques for fine-tuning the learning effect. (3) A configurable mechanism takes account of accommodating the changes in the game content.
