Abstract :
The mechanical embryo diagram is constructed with the topological analysis of original institutions. After the point representing binary link is inserted into topological embryo diagram, we get the topological graph which meets the requirements of all kinematic chains. Based on the correspondence between graph and mechanism, the topological graph is turned into a generalized graph of kinematic chain. After designating the types of various elements, the generalized graph kinematic chain can be turned into specialized one and particularized to new institutions containing the same or similar functions. On this basis, the designer can gain a comprehensive assessment and sort out the good structural type. This method can improve organizational efficiency and quality of innovative design, and operate well.
