Abstract :
This paper introduces the reader to the genre-based approach to text learning and the training of writing. A design for teaching the narrative genre as a way of improving the student´s reading and writing of English text in the virtual classroom assisted by the Blackboard Learning System is proposed before the paper concludes. Both the teachers and students find learning to be both exciting and challenging in the Internet environment. The genre-based approach especially provides us with an effective tool to improve the students´ language learning efficiency and to stimulate the initiative of both teachers and students.
