Abstract :
In this paper we present the design and optimization of decision and DEMUX circuits fabricated in a 0.7 μm InP HBT technology. Full-rate characterization at 50 Gb/s shows CPM of 13 ps and excellent 3R capabilities. Circuits are compatible with positive and negative signal to ease high-speed interface with different types of photodiode in the photoreceiver. The decision circuit copackaged with the pin-photodetector was used as photoreceiver in 107 Gb/s optical experiment. Error-floor free demultiplexing operation with 231-1 PRBS signal was demonstrated.
