Abstract
In this paper application of FDTD method supplemented with periodic boundary conditions to the analysis of three-dimensional photonic crystals is presented. For that purpose, a model of body-centered cubic dielectric lattice is introduced and investigated. Complex-looped FDTD algorithm is applied for the computation of a photonic bandgap diagram in the first irreducible Brillouin zone revealing dispersive properties of the lattice.
