Abstract :
Both the β upper approximation and lower approximation operators in variable precision covering rough set model based on neighborhood do not keep intersection operation, which means that the information may be lost in the operations of intersection. A new pair of covering upper and lower boundary regions operators are defined in variable precision covering rough set and their properties are discussed. Using them, two inequalities well known in the variable precision covering rough set become equalities. With the change, no information will be lost in the new expressions.
