Abstract :
A brief introduction of the seismic analysis and safety evaluation to the approach marine bridges of the Second Penang Bridge in Malaysia was presented. The research indicates that the seismic safety could be ensured under the design earthquake. The aspects in the design philosophy and modeling method were presented explicitly in this paper. Suggestions in the structural design and the use of isolating and anti-collapse devices are also given.
