Abstract
The combination of space syntax and GIS plays an important role in the analysis of some urban problems. This paper put forward such a new quantitative method and take Shanghai urban area as the study case. Road structure of 9 urban districts is classified into three statuses: districts with high intelligibility, districts with medium intelligibility and districts with low intelligibility.
