Abstract
This paper describes the state of practice of Construction Demolition Waste (CDW) management in a developing country, namely Lebanon, through four case studies. Three of the case studies relate to emergency CDW, mostly building construction materials. The fourth case study addresses non-emergency CDW, particularly Recycling Asphalt Pavement (RAP). Preliminary results indicate varying levels of recycling rates across the four case studies. The paper concludes with drivers for recycling as well as the obstacles preventing higher recycling rates.
