Abstract :
In this paper, the consumption structure data of urban residents are selected from 31 administrative areas (including provinces, cities and autonomous regions) in China during the period of 2001 to 2007. Then, software SPSS16.0 is adopted to make analysis of factor, clustering and discriminant. Through the comparative analysis between Inner Mongolia region and the developed eastern provinces, we find that the consumption gap is gradually increased between them. In order to reduce this gap, we propose some policy suggestions to improve the consumption level of Inner Mongolia finally.
