    The concepts and characteristics of radio spectrum in wireless mobile communication system were introduced; the relevant problems and design objectives for channel assignment were summarized. The fundamental mechanism of a hybrid channel allocation model using an evolutionary strategy with an allocation distance was analyzed in detail, and the certain defects exiting among them were pointed out. Finally, the further research strategies and the development tendency on channel assignment were proposed.
