Abstract
As one of the most precious source of oilfield, core is the best material to realize and evaluate the underlying geological features. Furthermore, after related processing of core image, the material of core can be more effectively gotten and preserved constantly. This paper select the Canny edge detection operator, and improved it with filtering by Gauss sigma function and adaptive dual-threshold detection and non-local maximum suppression based on dual-threshold, apply to core image edge detection, can get good results both on the precision and accuracy of detection and edge thinning.
