    The construction of Bézier curves with shape control parameters is one of the most popular areas in computer aided geometric design. A class of polynomial basis functions of n degrees with n-1 shape parameters are presented which are the extension of the Bernstein basis functions of n degrees. Based on the presented functions the polynomial curves are constructed. The properties of the generated curves are similar with the n degree Bézier curves. The relationship between fixed point on the curve and shape parameters is given, by changing the shape parameter value, the shape of the generated curve can adjust, the presented method is very useful for the curve design.
