Abstract
In this paper, a new folding technique using Tap Reference Modifier for A/D converter is presented. In any folding type ADC, folders are must, which restrict the input signal bandwidth. But in our work, we have introduced a unique functional unit called Tap Reference Modifier (TRM) to fold the input signal. This removes the requirement of folders hence it relaxes the constraint on the input signal bandwidth. The other advantage of the proposed technique is that it requires less number of components compared to conventional counterpart. A model of 6-bit ADC which uses the new folding technique is simulated and the functionality of the system is verified to exhihit the folding property.
