Abstract
In the deoxygenating section of a hydrogen purification process, the oxygen content of hydrogen contained by-production gas from chlorate process and the temperature inside the deoxygenating tower need to be controlled. The requirements of the safety and high production yield of the process are controversy. For safety, these two parameters must be controlled below their upper limits. For high production, the process requires these two parameters maintaining at a relatively high level. It is usually difficult for a conventional control algorithm such as PID algorithm to fulfill with this kind of control task. In this paper, fuzzy control algorithms are designed for solving the problem. The proposed algorithms have been used in a hydrogen purification process of a chlorate plant and shown a satisfactory result.
