Abstract
Serial communication is widely used in digital communications and control systems. It will be introduced into the control system of in-line multipoint initiation in this paper. Using the software Quartus II and the hardware descriptive language VHDL in line with the top-down method, a hardware platform of in-line multipoint initiation control system was designed. The system integrated the main serial communication function to CPLD chips. It effectively solved the problem that the special serial communication chips have many pins and complicated interfaces. Signal processing and timing verification and functions of electronic safety and arming devices were also implemented in the CPLD chips, so that the whole design is more compact, stable and reliable. It is proved by the experimental tests that signals transmitting and receiving have been reliably realized.
