The catalytic purification activity of activated carbon fiber (ACF) loaded La2O3 and La2O3-NiO on purifying NO by NH3 in a micro-reactor was researched and their catalytic activities were compared. Then TG and SEM experiments were further carried out to estimate the catalytic activity of the catalysts. The experimental results showed that the catalytic activities of modified ACFs on NO could yield high NO conversion, but their catalytic activities were obviously different. The catalytic activity of ACF load metal oxide related to the loaded mass of metal oxide, the species metal oxides and the reaction temperature. According to the multifactorial analysis, the optimal loaded mass of La2O3 and La2O3-NiO were 20% and 20%-10%, respectively. Moreover, the metal oxide was loaded in the micro pores and on the surface of ACF, and with the loading of metal oxide, nanometer activity center generated. At last it was found that the 20%La2O3/ACF had the most satisfactory NO catalytic purification activity among the modified ACFs at higher temperature, the activity of 20%La2O3/ACF was above 92% when the temperature was higher than 300°C, it was superior than that of most catalysts that had been reported. The 20%La2O3-10%NiO/ACF had higher catalytic activity on NO than 20%La2O3/ACF at low temperature, and it had desirable catalytic act- vity durability.
