Abstract :
River ice has a significant impact on the Yellow River, as it affects the discharge capacity, impact hydropower generation, causes flooding. In this article we use Landsat-7 ETM+ imagery to identify river ice on the Yellow River and propose a methodology of identification river ice to make use of higher spectral resolution of multi-spectral band data and higher spatial resolution of panchromatic band data. The results confirmed the value of Landsat-7 ETM+ imagery in the identification of river ice on the Yellow River. It was illustrated that the proposed method is efficient for the identification of river ice.
