Wetland has great water regulating and storing functions (especially flooding). It is an important water catchment space. The four-lake region is the largest lake area in Jianghan plain, which accounts for one third of the total area. Among them, Changhu and Honghu Lake are the regulating lakes in upper reach and middle-lower reaches of Four-Lake Basin respectively. According to research and analysis, the largest regulation and storage capacity of Honghu Lake is 15.495 × 108m3, when the highest water level is 27 m in Honghu Lake. And when the highest level of Changhu Lake is up to 34m, the Storage capacity may be 7.8319 × 108m3. Meanwhile, we simulated and figured out the regulation and storage capacity of Honghu Lake based on remote sensing technology, which is about 21 × 108m3 within the border dike of Honghu Lake.
