Abstract :
The simulation and modeling of nature scenes with thousands of plants is challenging because of its complexity. In this paper, we devise an efficient interactive system for solving this problem and decompose the process of scenes synthesis into steps: modeling the individual plants, modeling the terrain, specification the plants distribution, and rendering the landscape. What´s more, we give a new fractal noise function, a new algorithm to describe the natural phenomenon of clustering and two efficient interactive editors for generating all kinds of terrains and plants. We compound computer graphic and image technique in rendering to improve the speed and also propose a landscapes walk-through framework to achieve more realistic.
