Abstract :
Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are adaptive heuristic search algorithm premised on the evolutionary ideas of natural selection and genetic. In this paper, an application of GAs in experimental mechanics field is presented. And an improvement of digital speckle correlation method (DSCM) is achieved. The proportionate selection scheme, one-point crossover and mutation operations are employed to obtain the surface deformation values. Results show that the proposed scheme is robust and accurate to discover good solutions rapidly. The conception gives attention to both result´s precision and calculated speed. And the application area of GAs is broadened.
