Carrier transport networks: What technologies are coming? Which are beyond that?

We are living in a time of rapid change in the technologies for carrier transport networks. This presentation will give an overview of the major new technologies, including those for the next generation (i.e., within 1 to 2 years) and some guesses about the following generation (i.e., 3 to 5 years from now). It will cover all key elements of a transport network: fiber transmission, photonic networking and electronic switching.
