Abstract :
A novel erbium-doped fiber ring laser based on a CFBG Saganc loop is proposed and demonstrated experimentally for tunable dual-wavelength operation. The dual-wavelength tuning is achieved by tuning the FBG inline with an umpumed erbium-doped fiber used as the saturable absorber in one of the optical circulator ports. 16 pairs of dual-wavelength operation are obtained with high side-mode suppression ratio of 40dB and different wavelength spacings.
