  • Abstract
    The design and fabrication of monolithic lenses for 1.3-μm surface-emitting DFB lasers is presented. A fabricated laser, which has a 0.009 μm-1 curvature lens, exhibited 25-Gb/s operation with a narrow far-field pattern (8°×7°).
