Abstract :
We demonstrate tunable Mach-Zehnder interferometer with an extinction ratio of above 31.6 dB through interference between core and cladding modes using two adjacent nonadiabatic tapers in a short length (<;; 13 mm) of highly Er/Yb co-doped fiber.
