Abstract :
We propose novel multi-core fibers (MCFs) with a hole-assisted structure around each core for high core density space division multiplexing. It is found that the crosstalk between neighboring cores can be greatly suppressed compared with conventional MCFs by using multi-core hole-assisted fibers.
