Abstract :
Generation of a stable pulse train at 10.66 GHz is experimentally demonstrated from regenerative mode-locking of an erbium-doped fiber ring laser. By employing a semiconductor optical amplifier operated near transparency, the supermode noise is effectively suppressed.
