Abstract
We describe a simple Mach-Zehnder (MZ) type multi-mode interference (MMI) photonic switch using an epitaxially grown lanthanum-modified lead zirconate titanate (PLZT) thin film. A half-wave voltage-length product as small as 1.3 Vcm has been achieved for a 2-mm-long electrode device.
