Abstract :
In this paper a compact UHF(350-700MHz) wideband microstrip slot antenna is designed. The antenna impedance is matched with material under test i.e. concrete in this paper. An integrated model is simulated in Ansoft HFSS and optimized for maximum impedance bandwidth. This compact design of 0.3λ × 0.25λ at 400MHz is finally manufactured and near-field measurements are performed of steel fiber reinforced concrete. These measurements help in performing radiographic imaging of steel fiber content inside concrete.
