Abstract
This paper is concerned with the implementation of beam forming using LMS algorithm and linearly equally spaced antenna array with different number of elements and investigation of different aspects of implementation of beam forming. Examination of adaptive array smart antenna systems is carried out and the effects of multipath components had on their performance are observed. The results confirmed the great interest in smart antenna systems as they proved that smart antenna systems could steer beams for reception in the direction of desired incoming signals. Linearly equally spaced (LES) four element antenna array is used for simulations. So it was possible to place three nulls for incoming interferers. The major finding of this research was that a set of weights is not only able to steer a beam in a desired direction, but also able to steer multiple beams in multiple desired directions.
