Abstract
A microcomputer-based speed control system is modeled with various digital controller functions and constant feedbacks for simulation and analysis. System transfer functions, stability conditions and output responses are investigated and derived for system design. It is found that the digital controller parameters and the output feedback term must vary with the sampling period and must be in a certain range to ensure system stability. Several design examples with output response characteristics and controller parameters in and out of the stability ranges are shown for applications of the system conditions developed in this paper.
