Abstract :
The emf-change of Pt/Pd thermocouples at the Cu fixed point (1084.62°C) were measured as a function of the exposure time at 1500°C, and then in-situ drifts of Pt/Pd thermocouples were examined at the Pd-C eutectic point (1492°C) to evaluate thermoelectric stability around 1500°C. It was found that the emf-change of Pt/Pd thermocouples were dependent on the baking conditions for alumina tubes and baking the alumina tubes in vacuum at 1600°C was effective to decrease the emf-change.
