Abstract
Surveying the road by vehicular GPS(Global Position System), we need to compress the mass road data and select the feature points of the road to get the high precision electronic map for INS/DR/MM(Inertial Navigation System, Dead Reckoning, Map Matching) integrated navigation. A compression method of the infinite-circle approximating curves is given in this paper. This method is according to the adaptive steps based on the curvature variation to compress the data, experimental results show that this method has small computation and high fidelity to improve the data compression efficiency.
