Abstract :
This paper presents the dynamic analysis of a wagon caster with a shock absorber, and discusses the good design of the linked-caster to reduce the wagon vibrations. The wagon caster model with the shock absorber is derived from classical mechanics, and is computationally simulated being compared to the experiments. The simulation results have good agreements with the experimental results. It is clarified that the distribution of the center of percussion of the linked-caster reduces the impulsive accelerations drastically when its distribution agrees with the hinge point of the linked-caster.
