Abstract :
In this paper, a kind of rectification technique for stereo image pairs is proposed and the related formulae are derived, which mainly consists of geometric distortion correction, reprojection transformation by central projection, zooming transformation and vertical translation transformation. And based on it, a method of depth measurement with desktop binocular camera vision system is realized. Firstly, the captured stereo image pairs are rectified by the proposed technique into perfect ones. And then, the horizontal parallax of every pair of corresponding points is gotten by stereo matching after they are rectified. Finally, the triangulation principle is applied to obtain the depth information of object surface. Experimental results show that the proposed method can realize satisfactory results with high accuracy.
