Abstract :
Before fabricating the ordered product, an automated production system needs to evaluate its capacity in order to make the products in time and guarantee a deadlock-free manufacturing process. It is important to pre-evaluate the flexibility and agility of the automated production system and also simulate the system operation for the customized variety products in quick response and completely prevent any process deadlock occurred before the system implementation. This study establishes the prior modeling technique by using Petri net (PN) to analyze the capacity and process deadlock-free control of an automated production system. Once the Petri net shows the discrete system status, and demonstrates the capability to produce the customized variety product orders and the process deadlock-free control of system dynamic behavior, the automated production feasibility is identified, and the process deadlock problems of automated production system would be solved as well. It concludes that the prior simulation of automated production system using this proposed technique would warrant the characteristics of the quick response production order and process deadlock-free control of real automated production system implementation.
