Abstract
To meet the requirement of ultra-wideband (UWB) communications, a T-shaped monopole antenna with cambered ground for UWB applications is proposed in this paper, in which the coupling between the rectangular radiating patch and the cambered ground leads to an impedance bandwidth and the cambered ground ensures a wide band. By adjusting the length and width of the radiating patch, the radius of the cambered ground, and the distance between them, a good result can be obtained. The experimentally measured results agree with the simulated ones, which show that the proposed antenna achieves a broad operating bandwidth of 3.1-12 GHz for the 10-dB return loss and the radiation patterns are omni-directional in the H-plane with high radiation efficiency.
