This paper analyzes several typical features of the development of engineering education and present foreign language teaching in engineering education, and points out our foreign language teaching should be enhanced in engineering education. In the light of Chinese situation, the paper focuses on the characteristics that processing and manufacturing industry needs for the advanced engineering technical personnel, and studies university students´ actual state in engineering education. Some suggestions about engineering education and foreign language teaching for China, even other developing countries, are also put forward.
