Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.

Rock mechanics is not only a basic theoretical course of civil engineering specialty, but also an applied subject, closely contacted with engineering practice. It´s very difficult to lecture this curriculum in a traditional way because of its complicate context and subject investigated. Combined with author´s years of teaching method and exploring experience, this article hold that rock mechanics teaching should be strengthened on the basis of classroom teaching theory, closely linking to experimental teaching, strengthening practical teaching, improving the students´ ability to solve practical engineering problems through the basic theoretical knowledge they acquired, and attaching the importance to cultivating student´s ability of exploring and innovation.
