Abstract
A manipulator is needed to operate the spacesuit in simulated space environment for some experiments. Common electrical components can not work in space environment for the extreme low and high temperature. A common industrial used stepping motor was protected by a hollow shelter filled with paraffin, and a temperature control system was designed for motor protection. The temperature of the protection house was measured and controlled by electrical heater and paraffin phrase changing. Models of heat radiation and paraffin phrase changes were set up and calculated. The temperature is controlled ranges from 248 K to 328 K. Hot and cold environment tests proved that the development is successful, and the device has been used in a spacesuit experiment. The development makes common stepping motor applying to spatial experiments possible.
