Abstract :
In this paper we present a new principle for localization of backscatter RFID tags. A new algorithm comparable to synthetic aperture radar on a non-uniform trajectory is proposed. The performance is verified with measurement data acquired by a multi sensor platform which comprises radar, imaging and RFID. The identified RFID transponder positions are presented with augmented-reality visualization. The new radar approach called SAR-like is shown to have similar performance as SAR at an apparently lower computational cost.
