Abstract
In this work we present a tool for eye-tracking based on a cascade classifier, able to detect the area observed by the user in a grid of N×M cells. The system has been implemented with the goal of developing an accessible assistive tool for ALS patients, therefore the implementation relies on common off-the-shelf components to significantly reduce the deployment costs. Starting from the eye-tracker as the main component, the tool consists of a core architecture, complemented by number of reconfigurable plugins, customizable on the basis of the specific requirements of the user.
