Abstract
Airport runway debris detection is very important, and result of detection decides security of plane and passengers. Therefore, it will describe the technologies that are available for detecting foreign objects on an airport runway, considering the relative merits of the various types of sensor, and the effects of adverse environmental conditions on their performance, this paper addresses a novel algorithm of detection about runway debris based on the weighted fuzzy morphology, which can achieves the image edge precisely and reduce noises. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm, compared with a few classic algorithms of edge detection, can effectively eliminate the influence of noise variety on the edge detection, better retain the image details, and adaptively detect the complete and successive edges.
